The events and activities for foster carers and children are really important and key part of the support for foster carers. Events are aimed to be inclusive and encourage participation. When fostering, it is important to being people together, to celebrate achievements and have fun! These give everyone an opportunity to share experiences and just spend time talking about fostering.
We organise and hold regular events throughout the year including a year end awards celebration and events for all foster carers and children. Other activities include a summer fun club and trip to the local beach. Other religious dates are important to celebrate together.
When organising fostering events, it is important to listen and engage with foster carers and children on the type of events that they would like organising. We secure feedback and ideas for our events each year. Safeguarding is always a priority and ensuring everyone remains safe and well whilst having an excellent time.
Support groups are another important event type to bring foster carers and children together. These are held more regularly and are often based on a relevant topics that can be discussed or shared as a group. Our managers and social workers attend these events also. For each event, we follow up on how people found these and ideas for the future.
Please download a Guide to Fostering and see our Events Page! We also cover recent events and activities on our News section and facebook page.
